Film in Scotland

Having a few days away in Scotland I couldn’t resist taking my film gear and a couple of rolls of film along for the ride with my digital cameras I had on hand.

Here’s a few random images from a great few days – if you’ve never been put it on the bucket list, the Highlands of Scotland is an amazing area to visit!

First Film Rolls of 2021

It’s been sometime since I’ve shot film and so thought it about time I loaded my Leica M6 with a roll of film and got out to grab some film photos.

Vacation on Film

We’ve recently been on a desert island holiday to the Maldives, which is an amazing place. To be honest, it’s totally a photogenic wonderland with wall to wall sun and colour – but in truth the island we were on was so small, there wasn’t that much of real interest to take photographs of.

Popping Reds on Film

Having shot a roll of Kodak Ultramax 400 a couple of weeks ago with my Leica M6, having looked at the scans in more detail, I’m super happy with the results.

Classic Cars in Black and White

I am a sucker for black and white. Digital is great for black and white, film is sublime! I love nothing more than to shoot a roll of Kodak Tri-X or similar, develop it at home and scan it in.

Since buying both the M10 digital & M6 film bodies, I’ve had a bit of GAS with regards to a Summicron lens.

Gloucester Quays on Tri-X

Had a wander round the Gloucester Quays area last weekend. A great opportunity for both myself and the Wife as it’s a shopping centre set in the old quay area of Gloucester. She could do some shopping and I could wander around the old buildings, camera in hand.

Car Meet on Kodak Tri-X 400

Had a few frames left at the end of a roll of Tri-X 400 I’d pushed to 1600 in the Leica M6 and as I was off to a car meeting last weekend thought I’d take it along to finish the roll off.

Loading a Leica M6

Before buying my Leica M6 I read quite a variety of forum posts/blog posts etc with regards to loading film. It appeared that many people struggle with loading even with the quick load system the M6 has.
